Devices for Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN)




Sensor networks consist depending on the respective communication technology of different device categories:

ZigBee

ZigBee Networks consist of:
  • A network coordinator (in most cases the same device as the gateway)
  • Optional routers without dedicated functions in order to enlarge the radio coverage

  • End Nodes
    • Battery powered end nodes stay in battery saving / ultra low power state. Measurements are performed from time to time and sent if needed / configured.

    • Mains or permanently powered end nodes are active and route also other nodes´ traffic automatically.

We offer devices for all 3 categories.

WLAN / WiFi

Wireless LANs (WLAN) consist of
  • Access Points / Gateways
  • End nodes ("Client Mode")

Our WiFS-Geräte are in general end nodes, intended for the use in existing WLAN / WiFi infrastructure. After unpacking and for configuration purpose the device will form its own access point short-termed. After configuration & restarting the device act as an end node.



Wireless M-Bus / OMS

We offer Wireless M-Bus / OMS end node devices. These are intended for the use in existing wireless M-Bus / OMS infrastructures - in most cases this is a simple gateway or a MUC. Due to the OMS restrictions the data traffic is unidirectional and therefore the devices are not configurable during runtime and are not be able to receive commands (e.g. switch commands for the smart plugs), although this could be realized in wireless M-Bus protocol.
